Incoterms Tool

The Incoterms® rules are standard sets of trading terms and conditions designed to assist traders when goods are sold and transported. They are created and published by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), with the most recent revision (Incoterms 2020) coming into force on January 1, 2020.

C.H. Robinson has compiled these rules into a unique tool that provides buyers and sellers with a point of reference for what each party is obliged to do, and where responsibility lies in the event of loss, damage or other mishap. FAS, FOB, CFR, and CIF are Incoterms related to ocean shipping. Other Incoterms apply to any mode of transport.

Incoterms 2020 will not apply unless incorporated into the contract of sale by clearly specifying that the contract is governed by Incoterms 2020. Incoterms are ICCs standard definitions of trade terms and are internationally recognized as indispensable evidence of the buyer’s and seller’s responsibilities for delivery under a sales contract. This is a basic guide, we recommend you refer to the handbook created by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) for more detailed information regarding Incoterms 2020.
